January 2, 2010 is when Griffin will step into the octagon against Miller at UFC 108

Tyson Griffin is coming off a two-fight win streak in which his last bout was by a devastating TKO over Hermes Franca.

The Xtreme Couture fighter has racked up an impressive 14-2 record  and 6-1 over his last seven bouts, with his only loss in that span coming by way of a very close decision at the hands of Sean Sherk.

Jim Miller is also coming off of two straight wins over Steve Lopez and “The Ultimate Fighter 6” winner Mac Danzig. The 15-2 fighter has only tasted defeat once since joining the UFC late last year, losing a decision over highly ranked Gray Maynard.

UFC 108 is to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with an anticipated match-up between Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva.

Tyson Griffin, currently sporting a 5-2 record in the UFC, steps into the bout off the heels of a loss to former lightweight champion, Sean Sherk, in late October.

The two powerful lightweights waged an impressive stand-up battle for the biggest portion of the fight, but in the end Griffin came up short in a three round decision loss. Looking to step right back into competition, Griffin will now likely face another top grappler in Rafael Dos Anjos, who made his debut at UFC 91 in November, losing by knockout to Jeremy Stephens.

Dos Anjos was doing very well in his performance during the fight with Stephens, until he was caught with a devastating uppercut in the third round that brought about the end of the fight. With a rapidly growing lightweight division, the bout between Griffin and Dos Anjos will be critical for the futures of both fighters.
